Hi everyone!
New to the tribe, and I wanted to say hi. Also, does anyone rember those no bake cookies? My neice made a request for them for Thanksgiving, and I can't find my recipe. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Je'nia

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 8:48 PMWelcome! What were the main ingredients? I can only think of ones I use to make that were date balls that didn't require baking. -

Sat, November 17, 2007 - 4:21 PMHi Je'nia
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, these are drop cookies I also have one for bar cookies.
Peanut Butter No-Bake Cookies
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2 cups quick-cooking oats
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, flour and milk. Bring to a full rolling boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
2. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients all at once. Blend well.
3. Drop tablespoonfuls onto wax paper or aluminum foil. Cool completely before serving or storing.
Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Re: Newbie
Sun, November 18, 2007 - 9:40 AMI won't make no bakes with eggs-not good...
so here's others...
Rum Balls
3 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
1 cup finely ground nutmeats-almonds or pecans
1 cup powdered suger
3 tablespoons white corn syrup
1/3 cup rum
Mix all ingredients and roll in small balls; roll balls in powdered sugar. Store in a cool, dry place for 2 weeks for best flavor.
Orange Balls
1 box vanilla wafers
1/4 cup melted margarine
1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped nuts
Roll the wafers into fine crumbs. Melt the margarine and juice concentrate together, but do not boil. Combine all ingredients and roll into small balls. Roll the balls in powdered sugar. Store and serve as desired.
Church windows
1-12 oz. pkg chocolate chips
1/2 cup margarine
1 pkg miniature marshmallows
1/2 c each green and red maraschino cherries
Melt the chocolate chips and margarine together and cool slightly. Halve the cherries and drain on paper towels. Stir in marshmallows and cherries into warm chocolate. Pour mixture out on a sheet of waxed paper and roll up in the paper to shape into a log. Chill until set. Unroll and coat log with powdered sugar. Store in refrigerator. Slice and serve.
I have another peanut butter one that you don't cook if you are interested.
